INVERTED ECHO
'Inverted echo' is a performance that took place in one of the crowded street of Addis Ababa Where the passengers bargain either to buy or to sell at night. The intervention that i did was trying to sell Ethiopian paper money, both legitimate and obsolete(from the previous regimes),in exchange for legal notes and any valuable item. The intention was to call attention to the well understood yet often mystified nature of paper notes. On top of that I could also trigger thoughts about the sentimental values those notes have for different people regardless of their practical economic power but by virtue of nostalgia and political alignment.
